This award honors chefs who have demonstrated the highest level of commitment to both ACF and the culinary profession. Such chefs, through their involvement with and contributions to ACF and our craft, have advanced the culinary profession and ensured the enrichment of students, our members and those in the profession. Candidates are worthy of carrying on the proud tradition of the chef for whom this award was named, Hermann G. Rusch, AAC (1907–1997).

The Lakes of Paducah is an outstanding place to live and my parents love living there. The staff is friendly, understanding, and accommodating and show genuine care to the residents. Additionally, the food is excellent and even pleases my picky father, which is saying something. I was generally apprehensive about my parents moving out of their house and that concern has been eased by the outstanding staff, from top to bottom.

The staff is so friendly and down to earth. You can tell they truly love working there. They always have activities and outings planned. There is something to do for everyone. They especially seem to go out of their way on holidays to make the residents feel engaged and loved. The facility is warm and inviting and always cleaned to perfection. The food is absolutely outstanding. Sometimes they post pictures on facebook of what they are having. If you want your loved one to be treated like family this is the place!

Earlier this year I visited several assisted living facilities searching for the best place for my sister who needed a little extra care but remain as independent as possible. The Lakes of Paducah is absolutely beautiful. The front porch and views are very inviting. Inside the staff and residents make you feel right at home. My sister moved there about three weeks ago and is really enjoying meeting new friends, joining daily activities and the food is excellent. Special “Thanks you” to Laura Todino and Cassidy Parks for helping to make our decision and transition much easier.

My mother moved into The Lakes on August 29, 2023. We toured several and my mom as well as all of her children agreed on the Lakes it was just so warm and welcoming. We as her children now can feel very good that our mother is getting the assistance she needs while continuing to be independent as possible. Big shout out to Laura Torino and Cassidy Parks they have made this transition so easy and comforting.

It was a bit of a whirlwind romance, but my mother-in-law fell in love with The Lakes very quickly on our first visit. Within 10 days, she was moved in to her apartment and starting a host of brand new friendships. The Lakes of Paducha is a beautiful facility. The staff and residents are so welcoming. My parents and I toured the facility back in January and decided, when ready, we’ll definitely be moving my parents into this location. It’s super clean and offers so many wonderful amenities.
