At a senior living community, people have the same basic needs as at any age — the need to laugh and have fun, to explore and learn, to live life to its fullest. That’s why the importance of activities at The Lakes of Paducah is so important in keeping our residents as involved as possible.
But if asked to picture activities at an assisted living community, you might envision a “riveting” game of bingo, or a “suspense-filled” balloon volleyball match. A decade ago, this might have been a fair assessment. While there’s nothing wrong with these old favorites, we offer our residents much more.
Because we know individuals’ tastes and interests vary, we conduct a social interest survey upon their arrival at The Lakes. We are able to schedule activities based on these surveys. The activities calendar includes such things as professional entertainers, trivia games, field trips, religious services, cooking presentations, and visits from the homebound librarian.
